Abstract	This workshop will provide an overview of best practice in using metadata to enhance data management processes. The workshop is aimed primarily at data managers and associated professionals working in population health, economics, behavioural studies and social sciences. Speakers and topics for the event include: Jon Johnson, CLOSER – Why metadata is awesome: How DDI-Lifecycle can be used to enhance data management Louise Corti, The UK Data Archive – How metadata drives ‘The Archive’ Gemma Seabrook, CLOSER – Making use of DDI to drive the CLOSER search platform Jeremy Iverson, Colectica – An in-depth presentation on metadata management tools Lunch will be served on arrival.
